I have my CDL A and drove OTR flatbed for a year and saw this posting and applied. The recruiter is sending my application up and should hear back Wednesday from the driver manager in charge of the account. Does anyone know about this account or can give me feedback about Truckload in general for UPS? My local HR contact can bring me on local for seasonal ground but I'd have to get on the list for feeders and stick it out a couple seasons for F/T. All advice and personal experience is appreciated, thanks in advance.

From the drivers I have spoke with the hard part is waiting it out. After that you are good. They said they lose so many people that can't hang in there.

A recruiter for UPS? That's hard to believe.

Normally you need 2 years experience in order to be qualified, and that's for both UPS and UPSF. Truckload is their OTR division, and I'm pretty sure their nonunion. Could be wrong. I heard bad things about truckload. Theirs plenty of threads on TTR about UPS. Use that search engine and I'm sure you'll find your answers.

Seasonal, you need 2 years experience as well. Just because you work seasonal does not mean you'll turn full time, that's if a full time feeder position EVER becomes available. Seasonal only lasts during the holidays, after that, It's THANKS for your services, sorry for TEASING you about possibly turning fulltime, but you gotta hit the road.

Thank you sir and you are correct on most you posted. The only thing they only require 1 year of OTR to qualify, maybe to fill it faster since it dedicated, not sure. I have searched TTR and have read some mixed feelings and feedback on OTR Truckload. The general consensus: it sucks don't do it. But I still wanted to get some more opinions about this account and in general. Thanks again...much appreciated.

I'm not quite sure if truckload is actually part of UPS. If they are, it may be a way get a foot in the door, because UPS likes to promote from within, but you CAN'T apply for a position that's open at UPSF if you work for UPS parcel, and vice versa. Their two completely different divisions and work seperatly, even though their under the same umbrella.

I know UPSF has truckload. I've seen Parcel use them as well, and they drive the white OTR trucks. I heard rumors that their using truckload to POSSIBLY eliminate LTL linehail division for cheaper services. I don't think it'll ever happen at Parcel. Not to mention them buying out Coyote Logistics for 3rd party deliveries.
