Hi. I work at kemps In cedarburg wi as a driver. The 100k is a little far fetched if your talking just pay. Maybe with 401 k match and benefits thrown in. I work a high amount of ot and will make about 75k just in pay. And minneapolis is hourly just like us. Senoirity matters for bid selection only.Mike2633 Thanks this.

One more thing that is interesting. Walmart is building there own milk processing plant in ft wayne indiana that will be among the largest in the country. It will distribute to indiana, ohio, illinois, michigan, and northern kentucky. If they build one who is to say they wont build more.

Not sure about how he arrives at his figures but I do know he works bookoo ot and makes a darn good living .

Yes bzinger probably lots of ot. It is a excellent company to work for though.

That's not good. Companies like Dairymen's who do Wal-Mart will then lose the account and that could mean potential job losses.Last edited: May 1, 2016

Pintlehook, milkinitman, BoostedTeg and 1 other person Thank this. -
Wal Mart is causing a lot of people to lose jobs. Ever since they got into the Grocery business, they caused a lot of supermarkets to close down. I use to shop at a Pathmark that was located right next to Walmart. They're parking lots were always filled. Then when Wal Mart started selling groceries at a cheaper price, Pathmark customers started to dwindle, until their were barely any customers left. Within a couple years, they closed down.
Over in the NE, Shoprite is the biggest Grocery chain store, but now they have to advertise about Online shopping and home delivery service, which Wal Mart doesn't do, just to outsmart Wal Mart. ACME is the second largest, and they recently took over Pathmark, as well as A&P and Superfresh, and seem to be doing very well, despite Wal Marts effects on the stores that caused to close down, not just from the grocery stores, but retail stores as well.
A lot of the smaller milk companies around my area are being taking over by the big companies. Dean foods is pretty much taken over the milk industry in the NE, buying out smaller milk companies. So is HP Hood. But if Wal Mart gets into the milk delivery business, I think that's anouther industry that might be swallowed by them eventually.Pintlehook and Mike2633 Thank this. -
OK, here is a voice from the past. WAAAAAY past. I spent a few, Very Few, months working a home milk route. Back in the '60s. Driving a DIVCO. Standing up and driving...
It was OK, EXCEPT FOR GOING TO WORK AT 0330. That is what got me out of it. Hell, that's about the time to go home from a good night's partying, not a good time to go to work.
I wonder if there even IS such a thing as home dairy delivery anymore. We sure don't have it here...
