Kemps is owned by dairy farmers of america(DFA) a large cooperative. There is a lot of local milk companies out there that keep there name for recognition but have a giant cooperative as a parent company.

Probably job changes, not losses. Milk still has to be processed and delivered so probably just a shift in facilities. Some workers may have to transfer to Walmart or find something else to do.

No, I meant total jobs. Wages will never compare when it's Walmart dairy wages vs. union dairy wages.

The article just said they are doing this to save money and to get the product to the store faster therefore extending the shelf life. It will supply up to 600 walmart stores. When it was announced dean foods stock dropped 12 percent in one day which is thier biggest supplier. You can google wal mart to build milk processing plant if interested in learning more.

So I've decided that after this thread I am going to ad an industry to my HO scale model railroad right now, I have a brewery, a Sysco Operating Company and Beer Distributor and a Ethanol Manufacturing Plant, but I've decided we could use a major dairy and fluid milk production plant as well.
So I will post pictures of the finished plant when it's done being constructed.
