Aren't you IC's always complaining you get treated to much like a company driver? Lol.

 

Yes we are but they only take away the perks and not the BS company driver required BS they force us IC's to do even though it's not in the contract.

It's all good though.

 

So you want all the good things company drivers get, and none of the bad.....lol, good luck with that....anywhere on this planet.

 

No I want to be treated as an independent across the board.

I don't need the company car I was just pointing put they take away perks bur treat us like a company driver.

 

No company car is no big deal to me. Used it once when another IC followed me to Enterprise in charlotte to turn in my rental car back when I bought my new truck.

@TennMan makes an excellent point though about how it is just something else being taken away. When you sign a work agreement (contract), it is never a good feeling to have things that were made available to you, taken away. That's not good business practice.

 

Point still stands. I hear IC's all the time complain how they are treated no differently than a company driver, then when something changes to treat them differently, they complain.

There are more changes coming, that I can guarantee. I look forward to reading the responses to them when they finally hit. I will make sure I have my popcorn ready.

Although a few you may like....then I will read the comments from the few company drivers that post here.

Either way, it will be a riot.

 

For me, the more they leave me alone, the better.

I use their trailers, pull their loads, and they pay me. When the pay reaches a point where I see I can honestly do better somewhere else, I will go there.

I don't use their shops for anything beyond a quarterly inspection (that they require). I don't use their fuel card. I don't use any sort of discounts that they provide, as I can already beat all of these. I drive my own truck, not one from their finance company.

About the only thing they could do to me at this point is ban me from the terminals or showers, and i rarely use their showers.

 

Next we'll have to pay for showers, laundry, parking at the OC, qualcomm, transflo, gps, quarterly inspections, seals and who knows what else.

My point is IC's pay 35% for these perks as part of the deal we signed up for. So what's next.

 

Exactly.

I don't care what they do or don't give us, but don't change it in the middle of the game.
