Apparently the insurers are striking back against the manufacturers, and in particular against their policies regarding totaled vehicles. Yes, we all know totals should never happen, but they do, and at least a couple of the manufacturers have ridiculously low percentages they assign to salvage vehicles, costing insurers thousands of dollars at a time on diminished value claims. And so it would seem the letters on non-renewal have started to arrive in mailboxes here and there.
Shouldn't affect you guys on the used car side, but everyone on the new car side should start to think about options, as diminished value policies will be either non-existent or priced beyond reach. Just an early heads up.
Insurance issues are coming.

Just starting for 7 c 1 million lib and 250k cargo i ended up with 23000 a year because its a new dot is that normar guys
-
The initial feedback I've heard is they aren't going to write diminished value policies at all.
But the bovine excrement just hit the air/wind interface device today. We'll have to see if they'll budge on that.Ziggy319 and brian991219 Thank this. -
The problem is that $250K isn't enough coverage for new. 3 nice diesels and car and you're over that. That said, that's a crazy amount of money. Never paid over $1000/mo, with way higher limits, in the stinger.brian991219 and Terry270 Thank this.

I am not planning to haul new cars and man progressive gave me a quote for 42k we only have 3 insurance company for new vanture in s florida they say after the 1st year it will get cheaper
-
I was quoted $11K. And that's outrageous, dude said I could expect it to go down to $8K the second year, and drop as long as I didn't have problems. This was a van though. 1 million cargo / liability / bobtail
Your driving record ok?Last edited: May 2, 2016
