Hey give the local pop distributors a call. They might be willing to train the right guy and you'd be home everyday. Pepsi, Coke, 7up. Even look at the beer companies too.

Some Millis drivers are home weekends. He might not even live in the hiring area for Millis anyway.

TMC has their own cdl school and Ohio is in the hiring area for that. Usually home weekends and good paychecks.
Prime Inc. tanker division would be a good place to get started. They haul food grade, not hazmat. Get some experience with that, then move to another tanker outfit such as Bulkmatic or A&R Logistics.

New truck driver+wanting to be home on weekends+newborn=child support likely. Truck driving is a grind when you know it and you never will. Newbies are ground up and spit out daily. Before you stick your neck out too far spend a few days digging through this site, vets know what I mean. Please consider other options more vigorously.
