Felt is cheaper than tarps.

 

So did your tarp look a bit like that too?

 

Yeah, it looked like a big smile. I only have blue tarp scrap to patch a black tarp so it's going to stand out for a bit.

 

Patch it on the inside and it won't look so bad.

 

I'll patch both sides for something that long. At least they will pull off without much trouble.

 

Yeah, that's probably a better idea. An ugly tarp is probably better than buying a coil or two because your patch job came apart in the rain.

 

Amen to that. some of these tricks actually create more work, why not just hook one end of your chain the the other end about one link down and then hook chain to rail in your box. hang the binders on same rail. as far as straps go i built a tray that fits in my trailer side box with 4.5" X 7" trays 4" deep, straps stay nice and oprganized one on one side with 12 trays and one on the other side with 12 leaves room on each end of tray for cains and binders

 

use a four pronged gardening rake, bend the prongs straight and off set the two inner prongs and it will hold Vee-Boards when putting up high as well as edge protectors. also works well for moving them pesky straps over that much needed inch if you put it on a telescoping pole

 

I picked up a tool that was called a potato rake. Has 4 prongs that are flat.

 

Man you guys have a lot to learn, those rakes work best for butter clams!
