Mine is a Holland FW8. I visited the local truck parts dealer and the only Holland he has is an FW35. He says it'll drop right into the existing pivots. I guess I'll pick it up in the morning and put it on so I can quit worrying about this silly thing.

Your slider is definitely different. Mine has smaller and more (teeth) in the slider. The pivot doesnt look very different though,.. my Fontaine sits tall on it just like that one.

    That's what mine is.

See if you can find out the pivot pin size for each, maybe it's possible to put a Holland plate on a Fontaine slider.

Also, make sure that some of your play is not in the slider.

I never thought of that. Is there a way to check this by myself or do I need a 2nd set of eyes?

I'm definitely going to check on the possibility to mount a Holland on my setup. If its close,.. I have a great metal guy that might be able to make it work with minimal modification. I'll get the measurements and see what he thinks.

Thanks. As far as I can tell, they don't make the FW8 anymore, although rebuild kits are available. I've looked at both, and the FW35 does look like a better setup.

Funny you mention that..... Just a couple hours ago I drug my wife out to the shop with me to check for the exact same thing. I already had another driver check a couple days ago, but, like yours, my wife sees everything. She may not know the lingo, but she knows what she sees.

"Nothing is moving but that big thing on top, and it's moving A LOT!"

Good enough for me. I'll change the fifth wheel tomorrow.
