having a problem with low boost and high pyro temps. usually can pull 40lbs + of manifold pressure and pyro does not get over 650 - 700. now can hardly get 25-30 on boost and pyro gets over 800. do I have a high pressure leak on the turbo side or is twin turbo going south.
This is on a 07 Pete, c-15 cat, that has had a mild pdi tune. any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

sounds like a boost leak. idle up to 1500rpm and squirt all conections with windex or soapy water and watch for bubbles. the cac you will probably have to pressurize to see if it will hold pressure.

The smallest air leak can give quite a drop in power. Also I'd be checking end float and radial play on the on the turbos, I had one let go because of too much play. On my new replacement turbo there was absolutely no end float or radial play at all.

found the problem, all the turbo bolts were broken and gone. shop replaced the center section of exhaust manifold, new bolts and gaskets. she is ready to truck again!
SAR Thanks this. -
let me guess, top turbo. keep an eye on those bolts. they have a tendency to do that on a regular basis.

I would figure with broken bolts, there would be a loud sound of exhaust leaking.

Ah the dreaded Acert turbo studs claim another victim. Wonder how much labor money Cat has made off that (their own poor engineering) over the last few years. Too much weight hanging on that little an area. Better stock up on rocker arms, too. Good luck going forward.
