I have a P/U in New Milford, CT and I'll be coming up from Jersey. My GPS is routing me up 95 across the GW Bridge. Is it better just to avoid the city and take 287 around it? I'll be going through about noon Saturday.

That's what I usually do. Take 287.
rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
Id do 287 ..the cross Bronx and the gwb isn't worth the hassle and exposure if it can be avoided .

I haven't been up that way in a year or so, but I remember there being some major construction on the Tappan Zee bridge that caused major back ups. I doubt they've finished it yet, but I could be wrong.
Also OP, if you've never been over the GW before, I'd recommend doing it just for the experience. It shouldn't be too bad on a Saturday.Friday, Bean Jr., Canned Spam and 1 other person Thank this. -
Drive around after midnight

If your not paying the tolls I'd take the gw.

I'd take the GW at noon on a Saturday.

GW is the best way. If you want to avoid it use 95 to 80 west to NJ17 and catch 287 there. Saves time and miles. Just stay out of the right lane.
