Well I'm in a different market.. However that sounds like a lot of long days of work for ok money...
I dont know the market there, I can't speak to better or worse opportunities.

I'll commit to saying I wouldn't sign up with a place that expected 6-700 miles a day every day/more than maybe once a week.

The money question is really one for you to decide. Does it pay enough for you? Does it provide enough gross to keep your net respectable in your eyes?

I have a PDF file showing loads and pay, and you're right @Ruthless lot of 6-7 mile days.

Most flatbed carriers pay 75% plus fsc. Carrier pays insurance. You bring your own trailer or rent one from them.

% is relative tho. Place by me advertises 85%/87% but there rates are trash in comparison to many other carriers. Including those carriers paying 70-75%.

Gotta look at the sum total regarding the pay and what comes with it.

I'm with you there. Maybe once or twice a week if it means the difference between catching a reload or sitting for a day. Usually depends how my week is going.

I hustle when I need to.. but I'm not out here to work any harder than I have to either. 300 to maybe 500ish a day is where I've settled in at. Pay a higher rate usually.. unload and reload in the same day usually as well.

Trying to load a 700mi run and expecting to get a reload and enough sleep in the same 24hr period is pretty much impossible.

    I'm comfortable with 1800 to 2500ish mi a week.

I seen alot of 6-7 mile days on the PDF delivery in am reload and do 6-7 again. I do 620-670 every Wednesday, that's just once a week don't want to do it 2-3 times a week not in the hills, maybe I'm getting wimpy and soft. At least the guy showed me what their operation was like and make a good decision. Appreciate all the input.

I don't blame you. Mountains or traffic riding those kinds of distances wears me out. I did 900 yesterday/ today. Tomorroe gonna do like 50 & take off Thursday to even it out.
I have a max mile limit per week. 2k n no more truck driving. I don't care if it's Tuesday.

    tsavory and bzinger Thank this.
