That's good trucking country. Maybe you won't lose your job, but if you do, NC has plenty of jobs for you.

 

The mood of the safety guy/gal at the time they review the report probably is the biggest determining factor. I've seen folks keep their jobs for much more, and them fired for much less. I hope the best for you. #ranbypsychopaths

 

Begging the safety dept will likely yield better results than, ahem, well you know...

 

Well I didn't get out my tape measure or nothin' but she looks about 10' to me! That there sign said low clearance 9' but I sure thought I'd try and squeeze her under anyway!

The hotel sounded friendly enough but if they haven't already they will call your company.They re going to want them
to pay for the damage and it's not going to be cheap.You can tell safety you would be willing to pay for all the damage to the trk and hotel.In a trk stay away from those overhangs.

 

They'll call you into safety probably when you get back to terminal.They won't discuss such matters over the phone.
