    Not me, I'm retired!
Former neighbor of mine in Tennessee worked at that company and made $72K every year, but he hustled all the time.

Maybe in the past yes but like I said, Las Vegas is a very depressed area with a high foreclosure rate and unemployment

They are a smaller family owned business I use to deliver too and they had some guys run down to Los Angeles I would run into at the refinery.

    Oxbow and diesellover22 Thank this.

I have a friend out there who is not retired. He's a truck driver and there's pretty much nothing. The pay is so bad he works under the table. His condo is under water and will probably walk away from it. He owns a semi and trailer and will pretty much have to give it away.

Like any city you got to poke around to find the decent local gigs but they are there. I use to run loads of refined oil from Los Angeles to the local mom and pops out in vegas

Good jobs there are scarce unless you're a trucker. Most jobs are service/hospitality and don't pay much.
Faraday Future is building a $1 billion dollar automobile manufacturing plant in Las Vegas. New cars should roll off the assembly line sometime in 2017.
Yep, lots of foreclosures there. That's how I was able to buy a nice home there during the housing crash.

I have another friend in Reno. Haven't heard from her in a long time but she's a truck driver. She picks up a load of produce on CA then brings it back to Las Vegas and Reno. Then they bring it back to CA so now it's considered imported from a different state. Not sure who profits from it but it works.

We looked at some nice condos during the housing crash. Wow, some of those high end condos dropped to $80K and less. The problem is the fixed costs are so high it was still bad. Nice 2 bedroom 2 bath on the golf course, swimming pool, fitness gym, sauna, but the HOA fee plus property taxes were $1840.00 per month plus utilitiy bills. For someone like me, even if the condo was free, still couldn't afford the fixed costs that would never end.

Yea there is a couple nice newer condo developments down here by me also like that.

The low price reflects the insane hoa fees.

Golf courses are getting be a real drag on homeowners.

My exgf had a nice condo on a nice golf course with a golf membership . Her father gave it to us after he moved to a different development with a new course and membership.

1st year we had it they tore down the perfectly acceptable club house and built a monstrosity .
Than hit us with 18000 special assessment.

We forfeited the membership along with many the neighbors.

That just drove up the assessment for the remaining members who many of them called it quits because their assessment doubled.

    Chinatown Thanks this.
