I doubt the conviction 18 years ago will be an issue with Sherwin Williams, but...
I just had to renew my hazmat endorsement and the federal background check application asks if you have EVER been convicted. I don't know what impact if any a conviction 18 years ago will have with that but I assume the fact that you have a commercial drivers license and you're driving interstate (not intrastate) you may be ok.
Please let us know how that goes.

Finished my orientation and get my tractor on Monday.
The pallet dance of double stacks is a new tune but the mind blowing aspect is definitely the access and egress.
Up-down-all around.
Now I know what it feels like to deliver to restaurants...restaurants serving class 3&8. -
Background check went well, have had my hazmat for years and I'll begin my orientation May 30th
I could have started sooner but I wanted to put in a 2 week notice with my soon to be former employer -

First week of running I left Reno 1500 on Monday (late start getting windshield fixed), deliver 3 stores in Vegas. Deadhead to Victorville but ld not ready. Deadhead back to Reno spending Wednesday night in own bed. Next is a lv unld at Kent, WA; home 1500 Saturday.
2600+ miles week 1.
Even at 90 probation pay week averages over .50 cpm for week.
Pushing paint rocks!!Mike2633, 28, Sprinks and 1 other person Thank this. -

Then you add in the money 4 pallets that you move and transport for your drop and hooks and for the overall weight of the freight put it all together and all your miles and it averages to about $0.50 per mile.
After 90 days you make 50 and a half cents per mile and then you throw in the money for moving pallets drop and hook and the weight of the freight yes it's a good gig -
@Little Eddy,@Sprinks,
How many paint stops do you think you average per paint load?
Are there many locations where you have to back in off the street?
I received a pay sheet and what we get paid for.....it seems like I should make 75k or more a year, then figure the 6% match for the 401k,holiday pay and pension...
I'm actually getting paid for memorial day and I haven't even been in a truck!!!
The benefits are ok, I was expecting better from a company like SW but not everything can be a golden ticket
I can finally buy a decent house in a nice neighborhood, though and be able to enjoy my new, future home on a regular basis unlike other otr jobs and their erratic home times
Do either of you know how much is put towards pension each month?
Amari said pension contribution kicks in after two yearsLongarm Thanks this. -
I finally heard from SW last week, but I missed the call since I was on my ten. And running nights and very busy, I never got a chance to call them back. I figure no one will be in until tomorrow with the holiday so I'll hopefully make contact tomorrow.
@RyanMckey916 I couldn't answer your question as to backing in off the street, but I can tell you the three stores near me offer very tight quarters. Bring your A game. The store in the city I live in, I'm not sure they can even take deliveries from a 53' trailer. It's a very small store that shares the lot w/ a Sprint store.Mike2633 Thanks this.
