I got an oil change at trucking truck lube, and didn't find out that they didn't change the air filter until 2 weeks later when I had engine failure and loss all power, Im going to lose 6 days on down time plus the cost of repair, the problem is in the engine so it's no quick fix. its a shame that you pay a shop your hard earn money and expect them to give you quality service, only to find out that it's more about rush jobs and making more money, and the the hell with doing things right, and satisfying customers. I didn't think to check behind Trucking Truck Lube of Bay Town, Tx huge mistake, I have learned a valuable lesson! It's time for me to buy all of my own equipment and do the lube myself, that way I know it's done right, like I do on my personal vehicles!
Truck king dry started my motor is it ok?

Trucking Truck Lube did not check my air filter and I didn't find out until 2 weeks later, when I lost all engine power and started blowing blue smoke! They are all about rush jobs and making more money instead of satisfied customers. I made a valuable mistake by not, watching them and checking behind their work! It's costing me 6 days of down time, plus the problem is inside of the engine, so no quick fix! I will be changing my own oil and filters from now on, that way I know that it's done right

Maybe I don't understand something
So the airfilter caused a problem? What exactly failed? How many miles did you have on the filter? Did you request the filter be replaced? -
I'm a little confused about what the air filter caused to go wrong. If it was dirty and clogged wouldn't it just reduce air to the engine lowering your power and efficiency?
-
I didn't think an air filter replacement was part of the PM service. They've always showed the filter to me and asked if I wanted it changed. Not changing an air filter would be cheaper for me as a driver not cheaper for the shop. Your problem sounds more like coincidence than YOU not keeping up with your air filter changes. Just my thoughts.

We used to run some trucks off road in very dusty conditions. It was not uncommon for a new air filter to plug completely in one day. When they plug the engine just starts blowing black smoke and looses power. Can also cause high EGT but you usually notice a loss of power before that's much of a concern.
A plugged air filter will not cause sudden engine failure. Now if it had a physical tear allowing dirt into the engine would be a different story.
I just don't see how a two week late air filter change could cause engine failure. -
I'm with the others, that wasn't caused by an air filter being 2 weeks late in being changed.
