I also started telling them to type on confirmation that if load is cancelled and truck not used (TONU) carrier would lawfully bill TQL $300. I got less agents working with me but ones who were weren't cancelling.

This was from someone else,.. but equally bothersome. I dont like to call on TQL loads posted as I have never been able to negotiate with them. Unless I am really desperate,.. its like why bother.

Sometimes I wish I liked sonething else as much as trucking; so I could go do that instead.

Then someone compliments my ride, or a kid gives the arm pump, or I see some fine looking largecar and I think "nah I can't ever give all this up."

If I got a sales job I'd be the sales guy that shows up in a pressed out bobtail.

If you're only in this for the money, it won't ever be enough. If you love what you're doing, good things will seemingly fall in your lap.

Not me. I buy whatever I need in a store whenever possible.

    I hate paying with plastic.

You've got that right ! I quit running my own authority 2 years ago and went local contract on 6 wheels. I thought this would be better. In some ways it is better due to my hobbies, but there isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss running 4-5 days out, and coming home for the weekend or maybe taking a week off when I was able to swing it. My current gig demands that I be very near home 7 days/week. If I still had a weekend driver and he/she had a problem, I have to be close by to tend to it, so I haven't been outside of a 5 hour radius of home for 2 years !! Obviously, it pays well, or I would try something else, but as a "born" driver, there IS nothing else for me except trucking. I'll be back on 18 wheels as soon as I think I can afford to do it.
