Does anyone know if you drive for your significant other and you want to break up do they have to pay you as an employee? Been driving for no pay check, signed onto his truck and conpany for over a year now. Just curious if anyone has any input?? Thanks!

He should have been paying you since you started driving but I for sure would not drive for him for nothing if hes breaking up with you.

No marital arts? Yes, you should get PAID. As an independent. I'm no attorney, but wife works at our COC . . . . may be 1099'd but an accountant/atty {get one that's both} will help you... even LEGAL aid might.
    Good luck.
    ps: I did say M A R I T A L ...... LoL.. good luck, be safe. off 2 work..

Thank you for the replies. No, no marital Arts. LoL
Wasn't going to break up but with the attitude of " your my girl friend, your not working for me, im Not going to pay you" makes ME want to break up now! Of course he doesn't. He has it made!!
He's grossing about an xtra forty or so a year. Why would he want to??!!
I'm more used to equal Team partnerships. Running as team, being paid as a team. Period.
    Thanks for the input.

You are hurting yourself in more ways then you may realize by not being paid right now. As said above, get some legal/attorney advise. Something like this you should be able to get a cheap consult. Then move on from there. Good luck.

This is why I could never work with someone I date. They get all mouthy, wanting a piece of the action. Then it's equal this, equal that, blah blah blah.

No. Its just a matter of paying an employee. That's all. So they can have their own life off the truck and you can have yours . That's all. It's all good.
    No worries.

I would think all parties involved would want the paycheck going out. I mean, if something were to happen, everyone is covered, yeah, but even just from a tax perspective, I would think it would make sense. Also, keeps down any possible bickering about my money, your money.
