It's the long holiday weekend with all the typical family time, parties, and fun.
I just wanted to take a moment to remember what Memorial Day is really all about …
Thank you for your service, I appreciate your sacrifice! :)

If you're able to thank anyone that Memorial Day was intended for, I'm kinda concerned.... Seance? Psychic?

Memorial day is to remember those who served and have passed. A lot confuse it with Veterans Day. Either way you cannot tell those who served thank you enough!

For years I have help place flags at the cemetery to remember and thank those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom and remember them in our prayers … I'm quite comfortable with a public thank you, but I do agree they and their families can never be thanked enough!

Wow a few of you got it wrong.

Memorial day is a day to remember our fallen. This is those who died in service for their country and extends beyond the military.

A person who served and came home to live a life after is not the focus of the holiday, that's can be considered veterans day.

What I mean by 'extends beyond the military' is that there were a lot more in WW1 and WW2 who died while serving their country outside the military. in WW1, they drove ambulances, took care of the wounded and worked near the front lines but got killed. in WW2, some of them were ferrying planes to Europe and China, some worked on the seas (my best friend lost his uncle at sea, the ship was torpedoed bring supplies to Guam) and many worked in other ways and died as a result of their work for the war near or within the enemy (OSS anyone?).
