just wondering wat is the normal water temperature for my engine, cause if I'm idle ,driving in a back or going up hill my water temp it goes 210F even little over.It is not a little over heating.Just replaced termostat and same thing. As soon I start driving slowly goes back to 180.I have been told my fan selenoid could be rong.Any ideas?

If it holds steady I wouldn't worry about it.....motors are designed to run in a range.....keep and eye on the temps, and when it's too high/low (cold weather and load dependant), then be concerned..

My Mack warms to 170*F, and running loaded I'll see 200-210* before the fans....it's consistent, so I feel it's good

Last week I replaced my coolant tank cause was leaking on the bottom at the seems. That's why I have a little bit concerns.

Well....what were the temps like before?

I've only driven Macks (2011 and 1989 a few times), and a 2002 Volvo VHD D12 with shot thermostats....I learned what they were like by watching the gauge.

I knew the Volvo had t stat problems when winter hit, and I couldn't get heat running light or empty in the winter. Sitting still blowing feed it would climb to 200* no problem. Both the Macks (one new-ish and one recently rebuilt) hold a "cold temp" (150-170*) and run hotter, but not enough to worry about...

    :)

Running east coast temp was going up like 190 ish but that was the most nothing higher. I own this truck for like 1 year now never saw temp going this high. But I got lots of issues with scr dpf injector now after all these are replaced maybee this is the normal temperature!? My friend has these kind of the symptoms he replaced coolant tank, termostat and last the fan celenoid and after that everything was fine.

I've had the DEF doser replaced in the Mack twice. Once before I left, and once since I've been back (I quit for 11 months to haul feed), and who knows what computer updates were preformed while they had it. Since I've been back the motor runs consistently hotter, around 190*-200*, but never more than 210.....

Keep an eye on it would be my suggestion....

The book for the truck will have the range....remember that high number

    :)

yes I will check that manual. Also lately my compressor working too much .like driving straight not touching the brake I hear it cuts in build air and cuts off.in this time I feel like my hole dash it's like rumbles with a deep noise.could be a back pressure? Have any idea?
