I know what you're saying. I had to replace a single on Tuesday last week, kid had the old tire off and on quickly, he zipped the nuts on, and torqued them wrenched moved on 1 nut before the wrench broke everything else it broke instantly at 500. I don't bother complaining to the guys anymore about that. There's one guy there that is good hell run them down with a 1/2 inch gun and then torque them the right way. I've never had a problem snapping studs not to say that it won't happen at some point in time I just figure if a tire shop can get away with it I can for a while.

On the subject of torque wrenches here's something to look into...

couple cheaper torque wrenches they'll last better than a harbor freight throw away they also have a 1" drive for sale for a little over $700 but it's still to rich for my blood.

proto 3/4 90-600 about 750.00 at landmesser tool , I just do not have that kinda faith in cheap torque wrenches maybe for wheels but not for main caps and headbolts

Rap tap tap with the 1" gun a few times. Then 450-500 with the 3/4" snap-on torque wrench.

I like CDI, I looked at them, they're only 19 inches long. Is yours 19 inch long as well too?

No it's probably about 4 feet long. It's 3/4" drive.

Page 20 and 21 I believe is probably the one rolling coal has or something similar

Possibly page 30 as well if he has the split beam style which I always prefered myself.

Mine is the one on page 28 click style with micrometer adjustment and from the looks of it 42" overall length.

42, how big are the numbers on yours? I have trouble setting those anymore I bought a 3/4 drive harbor freight one last weekend had to take my dads reading glasses to set it because I couldn't read the numbers on it I'm either going blind or they've gotten smaller since high school.

I just turned 40 and keep hearing all these jokes about how my eyes are going to go but I don't have any issues at all reading/setting it. I like the micrometer style markings to set it.

    379exhd Thanks this.
