I used to work at McDonald's. I was lucky if I cleared that in a month most times.

Whiteline64 QUOTE:>> simply disconnected from caring about you.

Sorry whitline64, It is a job, simple. You need to remove this prerequisite from you company wish list and find a company that do what they say and pay you what you're worth. Family is for caring, not trucking companies. The number one BS line in company advertisements is 'We treat you like family'. Well, why do they say that? Because the rest of what they have to offer sucks. Keep it simple, just the facts when job searching, drop the warm and fuzzy. Good luck.

Were you part time? I am guessing McDonald's pays around $9 an hour. That's $360 for forty hours. You might get a few hours of overtime so that's more or less what PAM pays and you're home each night with 1/10 the stress.

Well folks, all things come to an end.And not all are good. The wife got her CDL. PAM basically required her to jump way too many hoops during training, for the money that was being paid I told her to hold off. I have been having serious issues with my DM, PAM, refused to change me out. 6 mos, and 13k made, I decided to start an in depth hunt for a place where we can both make good money, and I can train her. I have 15 years class A, and 26 years total driving. This last week PAM dumped me in Laredo for 4 days, no communication, nothing. Finally, I was working on the hunt, I found an O/O that offered me the chance to train her, make a decent per mile split with up to 5500 + miles per week. So, she has gone from $200-300 dollar paychecks, to a certain $1200 ++ paycheck per week. So, as I sit here in Dallas cleaning out the wagon, I thank everyone for their input. Maybe I will start a thread on the new company, and let people see that there is a future after being freed from the employ of a bottom feeder company that promises more than it can ever deliver. Best wishes to all.

Good for you both. Yeah it would be good if you started a thread about teaming for an O/O .

I was hired full time, but it was part time in the end.. Only paid $7.40/hr then, and I started at $7.25/hr. Now they hire starting at $8/hr here. I left due to medical reasons.

The first day at PAM I made, $498, the next 2 days I made $1798, the next two days I made $1484, today I made $1130. So far just the four trips and yes I had to pay for the fuel myself. $838 for fuel. Truck payment $615 with insurance. Still not bad for a week. Should be better when I buy my trailer and move on at the end of September. But for a short time it has been okay.

Seems the trainers requirements depend on the specific trainer. Mine was like a diaper, usually full of it. Making the assumption that I was gullible. I bit my tongue and got through it. Then assigned to a truck to team with a guy that after 90 days still dumps the clutch, and grinds gears on a regular basis. We are talking a melinial generation fellow that can't navigate two miles without the GPS. Refuses to look at a map at all. This is no exaggeration. We have yet to be given over 3800 miles in a week. We are always arriving 24-48 hours early, and have to wait.
Luckily I have changed departments to run hazmat. As a rookie in the industry, it's bite the bullet and get the time in to move forward. Luckily I have an attorney that knows that Driver Solutions is a bad scam. They have been sued so often. I will be out of my contract after 6 months, and owe them nothing. Have another company that I have talked to several times. Will most likely work for them in the near future.

If you are reading this with consideration of Driver Solutions and PAM. Do yourself a favor and cut a deal to pay cash for that school. Even on a personal loan, you will not have the problem of an unfair contract. The cost of the school is not 6k if you are paying up front. Everything is negotiable...

I didn't know PAM leased on O/O's. Are you planning on doing your own thing since you got your own authority?
