There used to be a variety of radio programs late at night.
I could not remember any of them to save my life now. But I do recall that there was quite a bit of quality in the broadcasting and made for some thinking which warded off boredom or other issues on the road.
I did not do the radio too much in my time but when I did it would be religious based programming such as Unshackled or something that allows for a quality material.
The one time in the United States during what I remember of Broadcast either radio or TV that was during 9-11 and three weeks after. Continiously broadcasting flawlessly across counties, cities, state lines the TV set would keep a good picture, not show any snow due increasing distance from transmitter or fail all together after 100+ miles while watching to or in my case when driving and wife was watching, listening. To have that kind of service, they must have activated cold war era nuclear protocol to make sure everything the Nation had was transmitting equally.NightWind Thanks this. -
There were some old time radio shows that were aired on an all night station out of Vegas. Some were comedy, such as Fibber McGee and Molly, and The Battleing Dickerson's. Some were drams, such as Night Beat.
Not exactly trucker's radio, but good listening and good reception down in Imperial Valley. -

Leann Rimes was on TV yesterday and got me thinking of Bill Mack.

I worked second shift at my job for years so I started to listen to the Midnight Radio Network on WBAP out of Dallas. I didn't like when they merged and became Red Eye Radio but I like the hosts. I lean libertarian so their political slant works for me. And a Merator "CYA" commercial every station break too.
RockinChair and Chinatown Thank this. -

I've been trying to find out about a female talk radio host that had an overnight show geared toward truckers. She was on 1510 WLAC I think in the early to mid 2000s. She had a really deep voice and an unusual name.
