I ran a f650 roll back tow truck with Cummins...would do long haul towing of two vehicles and it sucked. Motor lacked power and the ride was terrible. Had about 275k miles on truck and motor.
Ford F650... Will it do the job?

For the price of a ford, you can buy a real truck.
Terry270 Thanks this. -
Was that Cummins installed by a customizer? Ford doesn't list it as an available option for 2013. Thanks
-
Cummins / Allison combos are quite common in the larger F650 trucks.

No more Cummins Allison Fords being made -
No mine was a 2007....had the option of a Cummins, power stroke or cat.rabbiporkchop Thanks this.

I dunno too much, but the 2006? F650 my previous employer had was a joke. It had a c7 cat with the Allison transmission. Wouldn't pass an Amish buggy on level ground hauling 5000 lbs on the bed. Hard starting, under powered, rough riding piece of plastic garbage. Need I say more?
Viceroy1, rabbiporkchop, Terry270 and 1 other person Thank this. -
This F650 came with the 6.7 Cummins and 7 speed manual trans.

Thanks for the reply. I am not planning on doing long hauls. At the most 500 a day (within a 250 mile radius). I'm hoping to buy it for less than 4k. I live in SC and hoping to do runs to GA, NC, or FL.

Thanks for the reply. Looking to do short hauls within a 250 mile radius. 3-4 car hauls and maybe some frieght. I live in SC. Looking to haul to GA, NC, and FL...
