Accelerator Position at Start Up

What kind of truck?

I never press accelerator when starting.
Last 3 trucks. 12, 13, 16 Cascadia.

 

What year model truck are you dealing with? I thought the ECM controlled fuel delivery.

 

do as the manual says, forget what the mechanic does.

 

Let the fuel atomizer on start up. Once started keep the rpm up a little till it smooths out. Then idle.

 

pretty much all diesels start in the full fuel position. the governor then pushes the throttle back. this is for mechanical engines and early computer controlled engines as well.

 

Whats that engine in, a small motor home or maybe a pickup truck? Mechanical pump?
