I love my trips to beacon. I have a couple companies use this truck stop truck wash which just sprays water on the truck and that's it. I took one of the trucks to a place on the other side of Jackson which means I pass a beacon and spent $50 on cleaning the truck. I got back to the customers place and the two execs were coming out to go to lunch, they stopped looked at the truck and then asked each other who approved the new truck. It looked so good.

If the low fronts are perfect I'll stop in one on the way home. Otherwise 100 bucks for a one day wash, ugh kills me. We get one free wash a week at my terminal I'm at 3 days a week, so I'm kinda spoiled with clean trucks.

Last time I used the Beacon they did a stellar job on my tractor and trailer. In fact, once I get my regular truck away from a shop its going back to the beacon. Here in San Antonio, they also have a hand wash only place next attached to the beacon off the 10. More expensive, and kind of seems like it takes forever, but I may try that next time.

The trick to a decent BB wash is making them brush everything. They don't charge any extra but will only do it on request (and if the line isn't ridiculous..) But if you keep up with frequent washing (mine is done at least once a week) usually it never gets bad enough to need brushinges, unless the bug were super bad.

We have a company that comes in every two weeks to wash our trucks, they do such a lousy job, I'll often ask the boss if I can take it to the Beacon and get it washed to finish the job. It depends on the location though, I've had some do a good job, and others do a half way job.

Used the Girard Ohio BB yesterday. They knocked my xm antenna off with the wand. The inspection guy handed it to me and said this fell off . I calmly explained that it was attached and working when I pulled in and that truck wasn't moving one #### inch till I had cash or another antenna in hand. Then calmly explained he needed to call a cop and a hook because they was going to need the hook to get my truck out of the bay after the cop arrested me.

He sent someone to the pilot to buy a new antenna, then I used their step ladder rack deal to replace the antenna.

The wash was a good one, they got the truck real clean.

i avoid using the beacon around where i run. i drive a fair bit of gravel roads and if there is even a little mud on the truck they charge me 5 dollars a min for de-mud fee's and they always try to wash half the truck while stilll charging for de-mud. i have had to argue with them every time. i have even made the manager watch the security footage to show him they spent 2 mins spraying bugs off the mirrors visor grill ect, while still charging 5 dollars a min for de-mud. then they always try to make me let them put acid on my truck. witch i do not allow and then i have to make them brush the truck or it looks like ####.

i normally make it home every weekend so i just wash my truck myself 99.9% of the time. sure beats arguing over a $200 truck wash that is going to be dirty and covered in bugs in a day or two.
