I was in a dock in Massachusetts many years ago. There was a CR England truck next to me. The driver said he was dissatisfied. He was a trainer at England and had a student with him . The student had been with a few different trainers and couldn't pass. This trainer told me the trainee stopped on an interstate traffic lane to look at the road atlas.
Anyway, I was with Crete and was happy with them and they had a much better pay scale, so I suggested the guy come to Crete.
He says, " well they want a few years experience don't they"?
I said " yeah they want two years. But you're a trainer.
Me assuming he would have experience.
He says, well I don't have that much.
How much experience do you have?
4 months.

To each his own. Look at company scores etc and this answers itself. Also just watch on the road. Who would team with a new driver here and sleep while they are driving.
Toomanybikes Thanks this. -
I'm stuck on the 5- 6,000 miles a week training. Wow.
You are braver than I, wait, I may be sharing the road with ya at some time.
Not saying you are a bad driver or trainer, but I have been out here 20 years now and still learn something everday.
I guess it is the e-logs that make you safer than I am because I still run loose leaf.Dabbing&Trucking334 Thanks this. -
Kills me when these guys say they are training when the ONLY thing it truly is team driving.
Western flyer, snowlauncher and HalpinUout Thank this. -
I'm a trainer

That post meant while you were sleeping your trainee was driving or reversed.

I get students fresh outta school they have to do 275 hours before they get their own truck.. We spend 60-70 hours to observe them if we feel comfortable enough to where we can slp while they drive then yes we basically become a team but if not we have to observe them until we feel comfortable.. Outta 7-8 students I trained only one I really couldn't get any slp one because he couldn't follow directions on the gps & two he didn't know how to back for **** when he takes his 30 mins or shut down for the night..jeff18 Thanks this.

Gotta give up some respect to you. I couldn't be a trainer, for one I will not trust my life too anyone. Secondly I really don't like most sheeple, and I have a tendency for becoming a drill instructor if you don't get it the first time.
Western flyer, Blackshack46, roll_tide07 and 1 other person Thank this. -
