so I bought a truck far away the bank asked for vin miles everything before I bought it. If it doesn't match up the loan won't find right call the bank tell them they gave you the wrong truck and go from there. Also if it won't regen I would make sure the clutch isn't being engaged and the brake pedal isn't being depressed. My truck wouldnt regen, I couldn't figure out why I remapped the brake sensor and boom it worked.

Just had my truck Mack Cxu613 demand a regen but not be able to complete it. I took off the DPF differential pressure sensor, cleaned the tubes from it into the DPF and it's back up good to go. Recommend you start learning how to fix things since you didn't check it the truck beforehand. Start googling and slowly checking everything out so you do not continue to get stranded. Making it 100 or so miles down the road from the dealership is most likely your fault. You didn't put enough time checking out your truck. When I was buying mine I put about 500 miles on it and kept it overnight at my house a couple days. Every day I drove it and got under it with the creeper. I checked everything I could think of numerous times. That saved me. Found a minor oil leak, bad NOX sensor, a few air leaks, a bad airbag and a few other things. You won't find everything the first time you look at it. If they won't let you take the truck go somewhere else.

I kinda got screwed by arrow as well. I bought a truck from them in missouri sight unseen and was assured it had been gone through with a fine tooth comb. The claimed over 15k in repairs done to it and a fresh DOT inspection. I drive up there to get it and everything looks good. I am up against my hours as I drove a truck there to trade and am in a hurry to get to Joplin for the night. I get on the road and as night approaches I try the lights and the front clearance lights don't work. I check the fuse and nothing. I know I should have done a thorough pretrip but this truck had a fresh DOT inspection sticker that day so I figured all good. Anyway I get to the Joplin truck stop and jack with the lights some more and can't get them working. I drive home the next day during daylight. Turns out the wires inside the light assemblies on both sides are rotted in half. Broke off all the screws trying to get it open and was a pain to fix and had to spend a couple hundred in parts. No way in hell those lights were working when they inspected it the day before. I called wanting to at least be reimbursed for the parts and they basically said tough sheet you took it as is. Otherwise the truck has been been pretty good and it could have been much worse but I didn't like how they handled it especially when they sold it as everything works great and fresh DOT inspection.

You learned a lesson there. Don't buy a truck before you check it out or have it checked out by a trusted mechanic. I don't understand why people do that. Would you buy a home without at least a home inspection first? And that's the basic minimum. I had a home inspector, then a HVAC guy and then a termite inspection. True the home inspector could check all that, but I wanted an expert in each of those items.

Actually I currently own three homes and didn't have an inspection on any of them. I checked them over myself but that is about it. As to the truck it was a deal where I needed it in a hurry. I did check it over pretty good myself but checking the lights never crossed my mind especially since it got a DOT inspection sticker that day. I guess I was wrong.

Touché. I guess that example does not work with 100% of people. Some people have the expertise to check things themselves. Obviously you missed something though. I just do not believe buying a truck is a 1 day operation. You can agree or you can disagree. It doesn't matter to me. I do not think it is right to blame your mistakes on the company that sold you the truck though. They do not care about how a truck runs. Their only goal is to find someone that will buy the truck regardless of its condition.

Look at I65 Truck Sales in Memphis Indiana. The miles are higher, but 1). No fleet trucks 2.) all owner operator specs. 3.) James Joyce did me right. I had a mechanical issue when I first got started and he stood by his truck!

Okay, everyone else other than OP who might be looking for a truck, LISTEN CAREFULLY:

You check the truck papers and see something you like. You call on the truck and discuss price and down payment and whatnot. They email you an app, and a day or so later they call you and tell you that you are approved. You're so happy that you almost catch wood. You tell them when you will be there. A day or so before you arrive, they notify you that truck is gone, but they just got in another one. This is the old BAIT AND SWITCH.

Lose the wood because you need to be able to think clearly. If a dealer pulls the bait and switch on you, Walk Away. Take your money and your business elsewhere. Make them regret toying with you. There are thousands and thousands of other trucks out there, and if you have money, they should be taking 30 minutes to draw a crowd so the crowd can watch them kiss your arse.

If you want to warn a dealer, tell him, "Yeah, I was all set to buy this truck at another dealer and the dealer tried the bait and switch. I dont do business with a dealer that try to yank me."
