The idle policy ends this rodeo for me. 85 degrees outside it will be over 100 in the truck. That simply cruel and unusual. Best of luck to you, driver. Hope all goes well

These companies are pathetic. I guess they forget that there's a human being in their trucks....

Heavily considering this company because they will get me in a truck after orientation where Jim Palmer wants me to do 20k miles with a trainer. I have never done flat bed but the recruiter said her husband drove for them and Tarping was easy. One question I had was how many loads P/U at say 22:00 and run all night? I have no problem starting at 03:00 or even ending at 03:00 but starting late and driving all night sucks

It's trucking. Sometimes you can pickup in the am and run until the evening and shut down. You do what you have to do. Personally I will run all night every day. 1) Less traffic 2) Plenty of parking when its time to shut down 3) It's a different culture on the road with those of us who do it every night.

I dont think I would have a problem doing it daily once in a rythym. Previous Reefer company switched my hours so often it was tough to keep a schedule.

I ran LTL Freight for many years. We would run until we didn't have enough hours to make it to the next terminal due to HOS. Some days you might drive very close to 11 the next maybe 8. However the second we pulled out of the terminal to head to our hotel we had 10 hours off. You might start your week at 0430 and end up driving at night by the end of your 6 days. It is not a job for someone who wants set hours or days.
