As more and more carriers are starting to refuse loads from brokers giving out rates that are laughable they have doubled down on there scam operation and there bait and switch loads.

I take a load going to Dallas that's how it is listed on the load board. call it in its running 200 Miles for $600 hey considering what the rest of the loads are paying in Texas that's a pretty descent paying load i hurry up and call.
yep its pretty common for brokers to give a big city name like Dallas even though you are delivering to a suburb only like 30 mils are so difference not a big deal so im like yeah sounds good ill take it. send me rate con I drive over pick up load then punch it in my gps. it shows up not as a suburb at all but its 200 miles further away from Dallas so I call him back the load on board said Dallas now this is not anything like what we discussed. then he asks me if i picked up the load i said yes and then it was ok thank you bye. I could hear him after he hung up the phone saying suckerrrr. and that was ch Robinson that did that to me. Then I started paying attention more and noticed its become a common practice especially freight that's going to areas hard to get out of.

And you should've called him back and told him to make it right or have the shipper take it off.... This was kinda your own fault

Call him back later on and tell him your truck is experiencing technical difficulties. "it acts up like this every time I deal with an ### hole like you"

I have a question (since I book loads for 50 trucks a day), why would someone not look at a map and figure out exactly where these places are prior to signing the rate con and sending it back?

I call on loads every hour that are posted large city to large city and the absolute first thing I ask is for actual zip codes, plug those into PC Miler then I know exactly the location and miles before we even get to the point of discussing the rates. TQL is famous for posting the same single load 30 times to block up the board and will use every city name within 100 miles of the actual points.

Cost you a pretty dollar to get a rig a hundred or two hundred miles.

Don't be that desperate for the 600. Double check your information first before committing. It goes without saying. You can get overnights out of the midwest for 750 and do better me thinks.

You learned this lesson as I did once in a similar situation.

My wife books the loads from home, talks to me about the runs and i negotiate with broker. He sends rate con, wife reviews and signs.

The loadboard had run going to hendersonville nc and rate. The rate confirmation had henderson nc delivery and my wife failed to catch it. Difference of 285 miles.
This was Ryan M. at tql. Ryan also failed to pay tonu on another run that he had agreed to. I arrived to pick up a load on friday for a good weekend run 20 mins early. Upon arrival and 185 miles deadhead, the manufacturer said load wouldnt be ready to ship for 4 days. Ryan agreed to pay 200 tonu.

I didn't call him back about the extra 285 miles because we signed the rate con accepting it. I just went ahead and did the run. I put that nugget of information in back or my head if we ever do another run for Ryan to be sure and add the previous tonu in or we pass on the run.

Ive pulled several tql runs and they pay on time everytime for us and always at a rate I'm comfortable with for the situation. I'm not badmouthing tql as a whole, just that one unscrupulous broker Ryan.

Mods, please edit brokers name if necessary. I included full name so other drivers could be wary when dealing with him.

I also had issues with Ryan at TQL questioned the weight of a load and he assured me 3 times of the weight when we finally got to a cat scale 3 hours later, it was 3000+ more than he said. We had to run on fumes and pins and needles for the run

Sounds like a load from broker that dispatches (which is wrong), so you call the day of the load, "pick up is at so and so" which leaves the destination a mystery until you get the bol in hand and see the address. Your clueless about the real addresses because the RC only states the city names. "I'll give you the address when I dispatch you" REALLY? What do you think I'm going to do cancel the load and run to the shipper and take it from you.

A 100% pure property broker has no right to be a dispatcher, it only creates liability. The trucker/broker is just confused about which company they are working for, ummm it's not mine so why are you trying to dispatch me, dispatch your trucks, not mine. I'm a grown man running my own company, I got this, just give me the PO#, addresses and whiz off cause we already discussed the ins and out of the loads, I'll update you at the appropriate times, and if your real worried I gave you a tracking number and a link. ./rant
