You should be able to find somewhere free to park. Best of luck to you. If you posted where you are maybe someone could offer a free meal or a few bucks for gas or a shower credit.
I have a friend who was in the same situation as you except add a wife a small child and a heroin addiction. He's clean now and drives a straight truck under 26k he doesn't need a cdl for. Delivers building materials locally. It's only like 12 an hour or something but it's brought his family back together and he has somewhat of a regular life now.Bob Dobalina, NavigatorWife and Giuseppe Ventolucci Thank this. -
If you get near a pilot or a flying j someone here could give you their card number to redeem a free shower. You just have to manually enter the number into the kiosk. I would but I am not a fueling customer there..

I seen that Nicholas Cage movie. No,seriously,I had pretty much that same dilemma.I sold my car and stuff and grabbed a bus to Cedar Rapids Iowa CRST.Didn't pay close to good, but I had a job and showers and a sleeper to stay in.Other than the money part...It was actually kind of fun.Hang in there!!Giuseppe Ventolucci Thanks this.

Sounds like the making of a good ..no..great country song !!!
Trust me....trucking is home to many homeless truckers..NavigatorWife and BUMBACLADWAR Thank this. -
Before I got into trucking I had no money, $12K credit card debt, and was paying rent with Mastercard Checks and had no job.
I found a community college that would train, board, and feed me 3 times a day, and they financed all of it.NavigatorWife and BUMBACLADWAR Thank this. -
OTR is better than being homeless, although you really are, but you know what I'm saying...
Bob Dobalina, NavigatorWife, tow614 and 1 other person Thank this. -
In the meantime, try to get a hold of the local Salvation Army in your area. Helping people in your situation is actually what they do! The local police should have a number you can use to contact them. They may even be able to help with job training, or at least housing and groceries while you attend a local driving mill (I mean "school").
Also get into contact with your local Careerlink job center. It's June, so they should have gotten this year's job training grant. That will cover the costs of educatin' you on how to pass the PENNDOT CDL tests. May also have an avenue to provide you with a roof and a couple of square meals a day.
The Social Welfare system was set up specifically gor situations like this. There ain't no shame in asking for help, and you, sir, need serious help. As in the type of help only organizations that do this work regularly can provide.
Put the system to work, get back on your feet, and work to succeed!gentleroger, Bob Dobalina, tinytim and 4 others Thank this. -
Keep in touch with us on here- if there's a way to help, I'm sure some of us would.
NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
You've been on here talking about starting your trucking career for LONG time! Why haven't you gotten your permit yet? I honestly figured you'd have been on a trainers truck months ago. I'm not judging, I'm just commenting, I honestly thought you were well on your way.
Are you at least close to getting out there now? I hope you areNavigatorWife Thanks this.
