The money is already set aside. The individual pay outs will likely depend on how many respond.
p.s. are you Canadian?

Wow...
They should be sued for this , I was wondering why I got another letter, so now I guess I should ask them for ALL the information written about me on public records .... Guess they thought this world save them a head acke on disputed lies by keeping the drivers in the dark wondering why no one would hire them
.... Very understanded! -
Always dispute anything negative with hireright. Even if it was something you did do. A lot of companies just don't have the time to respond to the investigation and hireright will remove it. Most recruiters can over look a couple negative entries. "Quit under dispatch" the definition of dispatch to some safety dept is a load offer sent to your truck 2 hours after you cleaned it out.

I received the letter for the class action suit as well. I'll gladly accept the 2 hundred. And screw Hire right! It should be illegal in the first place to have a company that reports lies to possible employers with no proof or evidence just because of here say. Its wrong and though nothing bad has happened to me, I feel very bad for people that got rolled by a former carrier because things didn't work out and they simply felt like screwing with someone's livelihood. This shat needs to stop!

If you received a letter from this lawsuit, then you must've requested a copy of your DAC report recently ....
Also be advised that the information they sent you could be missing all the information that is actually on your DAC report
.... This is why they are being sued again -
DAC never sent anything. It's ok though. I was recently rehired and know what's on there. Virtually nothing. I just think it's dirty business and have read far too many posts on here about innocent people getting screwed over.

DAC was a branch of Hire-Right, but USIS bought them out and used the Hire-Right name after trying to use the USIS acronym. Long shady history of this company. The names used are more like aliases used to hide the problems.
Interesting reading on Hire-Right. The Al Gore connection is funny.

Hireright was sued in federal court. They were the subject of a class action suite a few years ago. I received a check for 33.00 in the suite lol. The plaintiff argued that hireright arbitrarily posted egregious and erroneous information on drivers DAC report without investigating to see if it was true. While posting information on the DAC is sanctioned by the fair credit reporting act, it does not allow unsubstantiated remarks on the DAC. The court agreed and ruled in favor of the plaintiff.
