Hey one of the straps I got when I picked up my new van has been so tightened that the slack part of the strap isn't there anymore...is this strap a goner or is there some way to get it loosened again? I've tried opening it and pulling back on that bar that usually allows you to give it slack but it's not budging.

Can you pull on the release bar? If you can do that, but the spool of webbing is so tight against the metal it still won't release, then cut it off (preferably on the webbing side to save the winch).

You can stick a screwdriver in the release then pry it till it unwinds enough to pull by hand?

Hook one end into your e track, hold the slack bar open and tug it, you may have to snap it back and forth, but it will come lose

You'll have to back feed it to get the slack back. It may take a while to get it undone.

Did you turn it around that way to get it lose? Turn it back around and keep pulling and it will come lose, they get hung sometimes but you just have to keep pulling on it. When you pull it towards you that way, you are pulling it tighter. The rachet handle should always be facing out towards you when you are trying to release it- or tighten it for that matter. Right now in the picture, its backwards.

Yes but youll have to turn the rachet itself around-its backwards. The bottom part of the rachet with the numbers/letters should be against the freight.

Its not threaded backwards, its just the folded tail has been wound into the spool, you have to hook the adjustable end into your etrack, so you can hold the release and pull
