Hi, my DD60 14L engine fan is switching on and off whenever it wants while the engine is not hot. I have fan switch button in the cab and when I turn it on stays on, but when I turn it off it switches off, but it turns on and off, and on again whole day.
How can I trace the problem?

There's a good chance its not a fan problem at all. The ecm will cycle the fan when the high side a/c pressure gets to a certain point. If the airflow through your condensor isnt enough to keep the pressure down, or an a/c problem is causing high pressures, the fan will cycle. Mine was driving me crazy in Arizona over the weekend. It was well over 100 degrees, I was loaded heavy, and dealing with hills. I ended up just turning the fan on.

It's not so hot in here, but I ended up the same way switching it on rather then cycleit on and off. I ddon't know if these fans are made that way, but this was turning itself on every time when I'm driving under 30mph (city driving) and it turns off when I accelerate.

It's normal if A/C or your defrost is on and driving slow in town .
If it goes off going down the freeway then it's normal .
Hot humid weather it will do it more often.

Agree with swaan. Under 30mph there isnt enough airflow through the condensor. Sounds like your truck is doing what its designed to do.

You are right guys, but today it started doing it at over 60mph with 30k lbs in the box at 75 Fahrenheit in Virginia and I turned off the AC to see of this is the reason, but it still does it.
