One company I worked for had an O/O in a wheelchair with a lift out of the side of his truck. The main issue was certain shippers and consignees aren't exactly accessible, so there were problems occasionally from what I heard. I always wondered how he dealt with stubborn reefer doors that don't want to latch up top and other things that would be difficult even for a short, standing person.

Just checked with my wife... Her placards are assigned to her not our vehicles... So I highly doubt a LEO would be able to look up either of our cars. And since its assigned to her, it follows her around not our cars.
Just passing along some info.
Stay Safe,

I have a big problem with handicapped parking spaces in General. Those spaces were intended for people in wheel chairs. Getting into and out of a vehicle with a wheel chair take more room then normal. The problem came about when the wheel chair slots were put closest to the front of the stores. They could just as easily been located farther back as a wheel chair can roll a good distance. However since they give up the good parking spaces for it people then took it to be an entitlement.
I know there are a few drivers in wheel chairs and I am more then happy to give them all the help I can, but if you are not in a wheel chair even if your wife has a broken leg, shame on you for using those slots.spyder7723 Thanks this. -
I'm with you, they should put the handicap slots as far away as possible, maybe even across the street.
It's good excercise for them.Wooly Rhino Thanks this. -
My placard isn't vehicle specific, I got the hanging tag for that reason.

Just so happens that I have arthritis that makes walking a painful event. So by your standard, I should have to walk in pain further because I don't use a chair. Seriously though!Lepton1, LindaPV, tucker and 1 other person Thank this.

Yes. You arthritis does not require a special parking spot because you can get in and out of a vehicle with out any special needs. The wheel chair itself takes up more room between vehicles then a person who is a foot. Your pain is your pain, not mine. I am not Bill Clinton. I don't feel your pain.
spyder7723 and tucker Thank this. -
Go #### yourself!

What ###### me off is all these "parent parking" spots I'm starting to see. Most of them are closer than the handicap spots. Like really? Where do we draw the laziness line at?
-
Thank you. I understand your feelings of entitlement on this issue.
I chose to take a hard line on this issue because all the groups that are demanding special privileges have torn this nation apart. We become better when we over come, not when we demand special treatment.dngrous_dime Thanks this.
