hi guys i am going to buy my first truck for city work.it's a 2005 freightliner columbia daycab detroit 60 515 hp,10 speed manual 520kms on it.i am gonna haul reefer and will do p&d in vancouver bc.most of the guys told me that detroit is the best in everything so please advice is it a good or bad?

Do you plan on getting the oil tested or a dyno? Dd60 is a good motor mine is probably in Mexico still running around with probably 2 million miles now lol. Sold it with just at 1 million.

Test your oil before purchase. Test can tell you if your gonna be spending money and interior motor work soon or not

Series 60 is pretty reliable. My dad had a DDEC IV at one time and over the course of 10,000 hours only needed a couple injectors and water pump. Jake solenoids seemed to fail every 3k hours or so though. Probably all that jake brake coming down all those BC mountains.

well i heard all good about detroit engine so far.i think its gonna be good for me to get a such vehicle for people saying so many good things.in case of jake brake we don't use that much of jake brake here.why the way thanks for your input.
