How goes it Mr. Thull ?? My company was running me ragged and the wife reminded me of the 80/7 etc etc etc even tho i'm not OTR i still have to follow HOS! I had to call safety and remind them when I was legal to work. Tanking is CRAZY now, esp. asphalt. People trying to do recon repairing roads, due to the wet spring.... Did you see this?? I normally haul the 6122 [ cold ] but do the 3257 [hot] on occasion. Just WOW.

Be glad you are on e-logs; i'm not. I've been doing this so long, I forget. In 2004 when I got legal because I had to, it was SO different. Glad she keeps up with the laws for me!!!
ps: what are you doing / hauling now?
pss: did you see my thread about 'what would you do' with the RV backed into 2 spots?
so much to say, so little time. Just be safe, man. Cool about Charlie's luck, huh? I can't sign on there..but I keep up with y'all!!!!!

Man today wasn't so bad since all I had to do was Drive. I still have not made it to the receiver yet I should be there early in the morning. I'm an hour away. I'll tell you one thing I HATE driving on state roads! Man the road was horrible & it was barely enough room on it for 2 18 wheelers passing each other. I can't remember the road exactly but it was in Arkansas. Man I need to get better at learning my locations & trip planning lol! My trip planning is Horrible! I'm that guy who just drives until I have an hour left on my clock then the "safe" area I pass whether it's a rest area, truck stop, or some old closed down weigh station/inspection area that's where I'll stay for the night. Any good tips on trip planning? Also I'm learning not to put 100% faith into the Qualcomm this thing is whacky sometimes & to me it takes you thru all the back roads & stuff instead of the interstate. I would rather drive an extra 20 miles on the interstate than to drive thru on state roads man man man! I know how to read a map I guess it's just my laziness. Im thinking of buying me a gps system as well. would you guys reccommend a Rand McNally or should I go with Garmin? But I know at the end of the day nothing beats a Map! But today was good other than that. I can't complain.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Wow man th
at must be a tough gig!?! Or do you just have to be extra careful. & yea Charlie got very lucky! But that's good stuff right there! I would have hopped on that as well lol. Is hauling asphalt any different from hauling chemical tanker.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Arkansas has lots of narrow roads. Lots of low weight limit bridges where the sign is posted at the entrance to the bridge, then no where to pull over or turn around. Then you realize you just saw a dozen trucks going the other direction that crossed that same bridge. Then you just cross and keep trucking. When you arrive at the chemical plant you ask about this and they say, "That's the only way to get here."

Lol oh wow! Crazy man! Yea man as if the surge isn't enough the roads were all whop sides so it felt like I was gonna tip over. My tires were on the pavement but one sudden movement & you would be rolled over. So I was pretty much doing 40-45 mph in a 55, for about an hour! I didn't care tho I felt safer going slower. No other trucks or cars were behind me so that made it even better for me.slim shady and G13Tomcat Thank this.

You did it correctly; ignore the super truckers yelling on the CB radio and keep doing it like you're doing now.drvrtech77, G13Tomcat and Thull Thank this.

Thanks !

On US 67 north our GPS will shunt you off on minuscule roads because it thinks there is a restricted bridge going north. I'll let my trainees blindly follow the go's there if I have time. It's amazing how their.mirror checks and lane control improves when there is no room for error.

^^^^ Thull, etc. . . i grew into the tanker life. Those mistakes were unwarranted, by the driver AND the off-loader guy. I do this daily, and it should NOT have been an issue. I feel bad for those who were injured and unfamiliar. Wishing you fast and blessed healing, driver. Re: the 2 lanes, I take them more often than not.....I know my way around the Shelly Co. yards, which is a huge bennie. When I pump on AND off, I'm in charge of how it goes. Yeah, they load me, under my watch...my check...triple check. The catwalk over the port, I spend most of my time up there, making sure all goes as planned. The water in the hoses, no excuse. Then again, I pull the same 2 or 3
trailers and specd' for hot or cool... JUST KEEP YOUR EYES AND EARS OPEN.... don't worry about the surge, bradda.
Thull Thanks this.
