I give hitchhikers rides often, in my personal vehicle. I don't have a passenger seat in my CMV, so NO!

I hitched all over the country in the 70's. From cali to north carolina and then back. Used to hitch hike to yosemite as well. Picked up a female hitch hiker in my 18 wheeler in 07' and dropped her off at her moms house in the desert. I have stopped my truck to help dozens of people over the years.

As a rule, I never give rides. Only exception to the rule is if I happen to see them break down (peace of mind knowing its likely a safe situation). I have stopped to help a stranded single mom and her kids change a flat tire once. Really made their day as there was no cell service for miles.

Every time I go to Mexico there are a ton of people down there that always want a ride across the border. I don't speak Spanish, so I'm not sure what that's all about, but they always seem VERY thankful when I drop them off.
