Good man glad to things are going okay.
Georgia to the Midwest in my experience isn't a great paying lane. I i might try getting tractors out of Jefferson GA going to VA or NC then taking Aluminum out of VA headed to the midwest. Multi stop, sharp will cut your tarps without blankets. Or plastic pipe out of Asheville NC to Ohio requires 51 foot of deck so you will have to move your tarps. Luckily for me i have a 53' from Ohio i would either grab a shorty to chicago then reload to GA or reload going to GA grab tractors repeat. Would also try Charleston SC area to get into the midwest.
When you get your atlas rip out Florida, dont take freight there for less than $3 a mile to truck because your bouncing to GA or pulling penny freight.
More than willling to share who has those customers but not here in the open. Call or text me today or Tuesday-Thursday next week before i go on vacation for 10 days.

Will do driver. And I hope you and your family enjoy your trip.

I was wondering though... What about just hauling freight in that particular 3 state area? Ohio, Illinois, & Indiana? I'm looking to stay out for a while after this 4th of July holiday.

Im sure you could stay busy, short deadheads on low miles. It all depends on how fast you can clear your expenses and actually start accruing profit for your paycheck. Remember your contract reads that you have to run i think 24000 loaded miles a quarter. If you don't they will charge yiu the difference. Its stupid i dont agree w the maintenance program here. But its we who choose to sign and agree.Last edited: Jul 4, 2016
Don Future Trucker and #KeepPounding! Thank this. -
You're absolutely right. I let that part slip my mind. But it won't happen again. I guess I'm just exhausting different ideas trying to find my own little profitable niche'. Much like how you did. I thought that was a good strategy to be successful.playamwj12 Thanks this.

I have another question fellas... For those of us who are currently @ Malone, is it worth it to purchase a EZPass/PrePass device? Also how would we go about purchasing one? Is there a monthly fee or a large upfront cost?
-
I found it to be worthwhile to have mine. It really comes in handy when you go thru the cash box on 80 in Chicago. All you have to do is go to the ez pass website for whatever state with a toll road that uses it. Fill out the commercial carrier application and make your initial payment. You will need a credit or debit card to do it. I went thru ohio's ez pass to get mine and it was $25 up front and I pay as I go from there on out. Once the balance on the account gets to $10 they automatically re-up the $25 for the first 90 days then after that they start drawing the average amount you use each month on tolls. But they only recharge your account when the balance gets down to $10 so it's not a monthly fee. Having it also give you a decent discount on the toll rates. Now that's how ohio's ez pass works and I don't know how any of the other states have theirs set up, but you don't have to be an Ohio resident to get an Ohio ez pass.
Now as far as the pre pass goes just get used to pulling into the scales because our csa score sucks and we can't get pre pass until it improves. I've been waiting for mine for 7 monthsLonesome, #KeepPounding!, playamwj12 and 1 other person Thank this. -
So to be clear, it's like a pre paid type of deal? If so, can I just load a certain amount onto the device? Say, $100?
-
Yes sir just put down what you want to start, $100, $500 it don't matter the minimum is $25. I toss $50 a week on mine and if I don't use it that week it's there when I need it. I use the heck out of mine in Chicago#KeepPounding! Thanks this.

10-4! Thanks Bfishn! How's it going out there for you driver? I'm definitely looking to tap into that Chicago & Ohio backhaul to the Carolinas money. And whatever I can do to make those trips as cheap as possible, I'm all for it brother! How was your 4th?
