well, the last thing i need is a failed transmission because it was too low on transmission oil. and i plan to keep the truck for a while so if i get more benefit from synthetic than conventional long-term, i better off using synthetic![]()

do you know if eaton 13speed lubricated with a pump or is it splash lubrication? I want to top off my transmission oil with synthetic starfire. I don't know whats in the transmission right now. seems like splash lubrication would be more tolerable of transmission oil mixing. THanks

On a 18 with a cooler they have a pump to move it through the cooler. At trans shop I saw a opened up 13 with a spray tube that run over the top of the gear clusters. IIRC the tech said that was a HD 13 but that setup wasn't that common. Im not a mechanic and that was 6 years ago so take it wity a grain of salt

Run synthetic. Our fleet used conventional 50W changed every 60k miles, and it was getting a burnt odor and very dark. Went to synthetic 300k miles and still good. We ran From Ohio to the Carolinas / Ga. and west to Arizona..
Also run 50W sometimes the heavier lubes would cause sluggish range shifting in cold weather.serozhah Thanks this. -
What kind of oil do I need for a 13 speed Eaton fuller transmission.
