Looks like a beam wagon and the tracks dug into pavement while he was crossing at an angle and it popped what few chains he had on it. The bridge has a pretty good hump in it.

Well they did a pretty #### good job of stopping the axle from opening
-
Just seeing this, at midnight, but was wondering why there was a second pin behind the first one on the slide. Think I'd have to ask the driver that normally drags that wagon about it though.

Like I said I think they probably put it in there to keep the axle from opening up when it goes over a hump and drops the shims out. My Talbert has a set of bolts you can put through the axle, through the shims, then through the rear of the trailer that prevent the axle from opening. The Etnyre I pulled had nothing to keep the axle from opening, it had two little tabs that the shims set on kind of like his does and they would usually hold the shims there but I still list a bunch. I got sick of it because I had to run a 1/2" sett all the time, so I drilled a blind hole in a set and epoxied a set of rare earth magnets in, I never lost a shim after that.

Uhh, ya think? I sure do.
To any new guys or wanna be HHers, this is exactly why I always say hang chains until you're happy or you run out. Running out is the preferred option. Riggin left hangin in your rack won't help bupkus with this problem, but if they were hangin on the load they may have prevented it...
On another note, I'm all put back together...passingthru69, PeteyFixAll, nate980 and 3 others Thank this. -
