Throwing the BS flag.....
Starting with... JCT DOES NOT HAVE DISPATCHERS... anyone not able to understand that statement?
JCT has Driver Managers and load planners. The DM does not dispatch you. He/she doesnt route you. When you call in you are talking to a DM. Rarely you may talk to a planner if the load has special requirements.
JCT uses a computer dispatch system that compares projected available hours, predicted time of empty, etc, to preplan loads.
Next.. drove for JCT for two years, Feb 14 to Jan 16, and can count on on one finger the number of times I didnt have a preplan within 12 hours of being empty. The usual situation was that I'd have to set my PTA as soon as I got a preplan to ensure I'd have enough time to eat, shower, and catch up on laundry if I needed that time. During produce season it was common to have a preplan 4-5 days in advance. I was one of the lower mileage drivers and I still averaged nearly 2900 miles a week.
Now about JCT not giving a crap because the driver is paying for the tractor. One of the most business ignorant statements of all time.
1. JCT is on the hook for those tractors. They cant afford to have them sitting. A driver thats sitting is the same as an empty seat in the ledger.
2. Even if JCT didnt care about the tractors, who's dime is covering all those reefers. Those things need to move freight or the company folds. If you pay attention to such things, those reefers arent clapped out pos. They are newer and well maintained. They don't even question a request for a traler wash when you do a washout. They get washed every time they go through Sapulpa unless you stay hooked too it. I had to hunt my trailer down several times because it got washed while my tractor was in the shop.
If you're sitting all the time at JCT then you're doing something wrong. In this case we can start with not knowing how the company you're contracted with dispatches trucks!
Adding this....
Your DM doesn't go crying to safety. Safety aka John Mallory, barely wants to do the job he's supposed to be doing. I cant begin to imagine an alternate reality where he's inventing bs to harrass a driver with. If you're hearing from safety for anything you've ####ed-up.

We are behind you on this !
So far, it looks alittle spooky & rickety to me ... Just my 2centsToomanybikes and scottied67 Thank this. -
One thing I have noticed is yes some of these lease deals are shady but there are good ones out there that you can make money off of but most of these people trying to do these things couldn't manage a personal bank account much less run a business account and then one of the biggest problems...
Dave_in_AZ, Crusader66, snowlauncher and 2 others Thank this. -
Sounds like Prime & John are in bed together. Running the same operations. LoL

If your leasing why are they telling you how to drive your truck & which way to go? Also, Had a question on that how fast do they run & what kind of safety features are on the truck? Cameras in cab?
-
They arent telling you how to drive or what roads to run. There are only a couple of stipulations. No I-70 west of Denver during winter. No I-90. If the mileages include those roads on a dispatch they will pay for a reroute and reset delivery times if needed. Only times it was an issue while I was there were deliveries to Spokane and a couple of picks in Chelan area.
But you basicly hit the real point. Most drivers are stuck in the company driver mentality.
Last spring I was still driving my leased Cascadia for a delivery in Wintersville Ohio. I got a preplan in an area I dont run... ever. It was even stated in my driver profile "no northeast". I declined the preplan and got a message that there would be a bunch of trucks in the area the next day and they were scrambling to find loads for them all. I replied that they had one less to worry about because I was headed home for a 34. (I'm from Ohio) All I got was a 10-4 and enjoy the break message. The next day I got a call for a verbal preplan 45 minutes from my home.Last edited: Jul 5, 2016
Saturday and RoadDogTruckingClone! Thank this. -
Quite a few reviews on Google and Glassdoor.com. Not many of them were good.

Not to mention reviews elsewhere here on the forums. -
I can see a company not necessarily just "sitting" the truck, but giving it enough miles to cover their fixed cost's, not the drivers.
I would also agree, that probably 95% of the drivers who go into a lease have no idea how to run their business, or even consider it a business. They think they are a higher paid company driver.Dave_in_AZ, Dryver, drvrtech77 and 1 other person Thank this. -
The drivers that don't make money here have no one to blame but themselves. They are either taking to much time off, not controlling fuel costs, or turning down loads. JCT is rarely ever short on miles and the few times they are is when California is short on produce. All the staff I have had interaction with is very friendly; even the Christners. You can talk to them anytime you want while at the yard.
I guarantee there is more to the OP's story that what he is saying. I've been with them for over two years and I have no problem averaging 2800-3000 miles a week. This is not the place to be of you want to be home every week or two.drvrtech77 and 88 Alpha Thank this. -
It doesnt work like that at jct. The lease payment is variable. A fixed weekly $120 plus "X" cpm. The value of X depending on the truck you lease. Since its a walk away lease if they dont move you the truck doesnt get paid for on thier end either.Whiteline64, 88 Alpha, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this.
