Overweight on Steers

Chances are it was set up wrong at the factory or there was some heavy aftermarket options (like an APU) installed near the cab. Only way to fix it is to unbolt and move it back a couple inches.

 

Also, what is your GVW? Some areas let you run a heavier steer axle/tires so you can gross more.

 

You'll have to move your tandems to get some of the weight off your steers.Move tandems three holes and you'll be fine.

 

13.5k is pushing it. I've always been comfortable with anything under 12,800 and never been bothered anywhere with such weight. If you were to ever achieve 34k on your drives, your steer tires are going to be about ready to pop at probably near 14-14.2k

But I have to tell you, somebody spec'd that truck like that, and with a fixed 5th wheel, and they really screwed up unless you're in some sort of "heavy-haul" spec truck with big tires and HD axle up front.

 

Put your steers on a diet. Oh your talking about truck.

 

What did your company say when you asked them why the steers are scaling so heavy ?

 

Moving trailer tandems is not the issue nor is it going to address the issue.
