major code prob w/ detroit

That is GREAT news!!!! So was the sensor bad, the plug loose or the wires broken?

 

im glad you found your problem,, i had the same issues an yes ,it was the oil temp sensor,

My truck turn on a fault code 128. but it went away, then i had been feeling like the truck is going to turn off, but is something really quick.. Every time it does that, I get a little amount of white smoke.I though it was a sensor, so i moved all of them. When i took the oil pression sensor the truck shut down completely and won't turn on.

what do you think the problem is??

 

128 is just ID of engine ECM. It is not fault code/

 

I found the 2 wires that goes to one of the timing sensors having contact. should I try changing both timing sensors??? a mechanic told me to check the timing sensors and when I did, i found that. I already changed the oil pressure sensor..

Fault code looks like MID 128 PID111 FMI 0

This is full code.

If u have columbia it reads codes too, but display is small so no SID - just S, no PID - just P...

If u can see 128 and no codes - instrumental cluster says that there is no communication with engine ECM by J1587/1708.

Check ECM power supply wires and fuses in battery box and wire juncktion in frame rail near starter. ECM may have poor power supply and wont starting.

 

I have the same problem. It says the sensor voltage low. Check engine light comes on, my oil and water guage drops, truck starts to hum really loud and truck slows down. Then everything kicks back to normal. Any help please please

 

Hi l have a 2001 freightliner classic with 500 hp detroid d 60. The company l m leased to installed a electronic log it worked fine for one year then l started getting a red question mark on elog.they said my ecm was not sending correct information to eld.took ot to elog shop they said elog is ok.took it to pittsburg power they said they could fix it.it worked fine for one week then l get the red question mark on elog at same time l get check engine and shutdowm light on the truck for 3 seconds a d it goes away it happen many times the l drove 1000 miles nothing happened nocodes no nothing.after 1000 miles l it happened and l get 56 flash code brought back to shop they can't find anything.anybory can help ? Please..
