Semi truck almost makes it under 11-foot overpass
    [IMG]
A semi truck got stuck under an overpass on Friday afternoon in Pullman, Washington.

The bridge, located near 16th and Highway 195, was marked with an 11-foot height clearance. According to reports, the driver was not familiar with the area and was following his GPS.

KHQ Local News posted the following update on their Facebook page:

KHQ Cynthia Johnson says police told her the truck driver is not from the area, was following his GPS, came to intersection and didn’t realize height danger“

The road was closed in order to remove the damaged vehicle, but has since reopened.

He should have downshifted and stomped on the gas pedal.

Even if that bridge wasn't marked, how could you roll up on it and think that the truck was going to fit?

Exactly. I do a lot of residential deliveries and while I don't have to worry about low bridges, you bet your ### I keep an eye on ALL low hanging telephone and power lines. It a lot of slow and easy. I've backed up down a residential street because of a low hanging wire, just isn't worth the hassle to me. I think I've come across ONE unmarked bridge in my time trucking. No excuses for this ####.
