Dude, one of the things you said I outta do is get an Atlas, laminated, preferably.
I peruse that thing everytime I see a state route tacked onto my directions. AND i Google Earth my destination... 'Cause I've had this truck in spaces where it does not belong! Like Pawtucket, RI. -
Why doesn't it belong in Pawtucket? Outstanding warrants?
KillingTime Thanks this. -
Side to side, yea, I could understand. But up and down? Naw, it's something else.

Here is the deal. The first article stated that swift truck stuck under the bridge was in Pullman, WA. The more updated article says Spokane. The driver was likely in route to Pullman from a unload in Spokane. That is how the media gets things twisted around.

Spokane is 90 miles north of Pullman and so is the truck and bridge. WA195 is the road from Spokane to Pullman but it appears the truck did not make it anywhere close to Pullman. The bridge the truck got stuck under is in a residential district just south of Spokane just off 195. You can see the old railroad grade the bridge was originally made for, from the 195.
His crap GPS probably routed him from the "old I90" which is now a country road, south through this new tract of homes. When that residential road ended it told him, " turn left and take the next road to the south."
Typical idot with a truck and a GPS story. -
I think that town was build for pups, or maybe a 53' attached to a day cab at most. But if your going in blind... psssssssh, expect some navigational issues.‘Olhand Thanks this.

Exactly laminated atlas and I use dry erase marker to figure out mileage etc. My gps to show speed and junction views.then before pick up or deliver google earth. All of that in about 5 minutes.

Drivers like this makes the entire industry look bad.Even the typical 4 wheeler knows more about driving trks then the trk driver does.I can only imagine what some said to each other after they seen this.Toomanybikes and TROOPER to TRUCKER Thank this.

I was making a delivery over in Jersey to a little shop off the beaten path and ran across a couple low wires. I stopped and made double sure that I followed directions provided by the customer. Zooming in using Google maps, I saw what appeared to be a better way but had no way to turn around. So, a call to the local police was made to help me back out. A little female officer, couldn't have weighed 100lbs soak and wet, showed up. She took one look at the wires and said to drive on. She said wire crossings over road ways are required to be 14' above the pavement and it was the utility company's problem. Onward I drove.
