Seat belt is fastened but the dash light is flashing and that d a m n chime is constant. 1200 miles with that chime drove me loopy.
I don't know if I can get to the shop before I start my next trip.
Anyone familiar with this problem?

I've never heard of the switch being stuck open? But my cure for yard driving may help... Find the wires that feed into the driver side seat belt. (to right of captains chair) Short the two wires using a paper clip.
If it stops you have a bad switch; if not, you have an open circuit between the switch and BCM.
Good luck!dbny5000 and Doing_flatbed_nc Thank this. -
When I was at Knight my Volvo did that. Ended up getting a new seatbelt.

An '11 I used to drive had a plug/connector under the seat. I unplugged it, peeled the plastic off a twist-tie and used it as a jumper on the female side of the connector.
You made it much farther than I did, lol. It started on the skyway eastbound , I didn't make it past the first service plaza in IN.Doing_flatbed_nc Thanks this. -
Ok, so cut or strip ?the wire? feeding to the seat belt receiver, then bridge with a paper clip?

I felt/ was crazy by the time I pulled into the yard.
Even with the radio blasting, I could still hear that Bing Bing Bing Bing -
It could also be the passenger side.
Have you tried buckling the passenger side seat belt?Doing_flatbed_nc Thanks this. -
That was the second thing I tried after unplugging and rep lugging my belt 100 times.
-
Mine has done it a few times but i managed to get it stop by buckling /unbuckling - wiggle n jiggleing it.
Not knowing for sure how its assembled my guess is that when inserted something retracts and then pops back out making an electrical contact but its not popping back out - worn or dirty ?Doing_flatbed_nc Thanks this. -
I was able to insert the paper clip (or it may have been a bent staple, I forget now) directly into the back of the plug, no cut or stripping needed.Doing_flatbed_nc Thanks this.
