Depends on teh items and amount of rebates. But some can most defenitly be a PITA.
I worked at Circuit City before trucking. I sold computers. For instance, buy an hp computer, monitor, and printer or scanner. It was usually worth $100 - $150. But, you had to mail in ALL receipts, along with the UPC codes off the boxes. It was a PITA to print secondary reciepts. Not to mention those receipts were pretty lengthy. So the customers only got one copy. That they had to mail in, and wait however long.
It's all in how bad do you want your money and how careful you followed the directions to get that money. AND how fast you got the stuff mailed in. As you usually only had 7 days from date of purchase. It was a gamble the manufactures played. And most times it actually paid off. As the people didn't do what they were supposed to do in the desginated timeframe.
Sometimes, rebates were by the seller. so yeah, it would be decent of them to just discount the price. Cuz i'm just not seeing the logic of hiring staff to fulfill those rebates and mailing them back. Although i'm sure the Post Office appreciated the business.
You don't see many rebates being offered on as many items these days. And the rebates that ARE out there, aren't really worth the time. I'm certainly not going to take the time to mail in for my $2 on a case of Pennzoil. Although my uncle does. And most times, he don't get his money back. And it's certainly not worth calling for.
Mail in rebate.

Me too. Love the Delvac rebates: https://mobildelvac.com/en/promotio...delvac-1-rebate&WT.tsrc=Paid-Search&WT.srch=1
Get a Delvac oil change at a Speedco and get a $25 gift card for spending 10 seconds texting a photo of the receipt. Hell even a company driver gets a qualifying receipt... -
You know with all the streaming technology today, why do we have to mail something in. Why not fill it out online or something.
My daughter finds coupons on her cellphone that can be scanned at the register.
Mail in rebates, old fashion -
i always send in the rebates, for what ever they are available for. right now, i await a $10 rebate from Benjamin Moore Paints.
there was a time, i'd send the rebate forms in by certified mail, as twice i was told by the rebate company, "they did not get my form".
but the cost of certified mail, made no sense.
so i photo copy all of the form, and mail in the original. in fact, at the Lowe's where i bought my paint, the sales receipt / rebate form has all the information i needed, including the bar codes.
you know a rebate to me should not even be offers, but rather that money, taken off at the register, let the stores keep track of them, and THEY send it into the vendors.
to thise that cannot be bothered sending in a rebate of at least $5.00 or more, have no right to complain the price of the product, when they had the chance to get some money back.
send it in, wait 6 to 10 weeks, so what, when it does come in, buy more beer!!!!!!!
or in my case, gotta buy MORE paint! -
use it at the gas pumps, that is what i did, works every time too.

I bought a new headset and it came with a $20 mail in rebate. I used $45 in points plus the $20 rebate(which I do believe is USD) and I am Canadian, means I'll have saved a good chunk of cash on the item. I figure it took me a few minutes to complete, why not?
