Man I want to master that backing till it's like a #### habit like putting a cigarette to my mouth that's how I want to master backing
-
Isn't that the same highway with the antique car junkyard?
-
Gonna be 100% honest and say I have no idea. There could have been strippers on the side of the road and I wouldn't have noticed. Constantly looking ahead.Spacat1 Thanks this.

Today was unreal. I will try to not drag this post out too long. But holy crap, what a day. The donuts are not impressive but the run was. You get experience driving and shifting, and small mix of city driving and wide turns, and backing cars up for maneuvers. It's borderline genius how Bill planned it. I did that run twice today, and got a total of 360 miles in one day which is absolutely unheard of as a student. While we were making our second trip, Bill got a phone call. There are 2 new facility vehicles that need picked up at our Cartersville location in Georgia. So, on Monday we are taking our truck down there, putting them in a trailer, and driving them back to our location. Approximately 900 miles total. Are you kidding me? THIS IS AWESOME! Between today, tomorrow, and the first part of next week I will have logged 1500 miles. Ànd...there are 3 days of training left next week. It's very possible that I will leave this school with 2000 miles under my belt BEFORE I get to a driver trainer. I miss my classmates but ####, what a gift.

More driving today. 375 miles this time. Took an different route with a little more city driving. Worked our way over towards West Virginia so.that I could run some steep hills and use the jake brake. More homework tonight, this will finish out the book work. Well, that's it for now. Time to enjoy the weekend and get ready for my Georgia run on Monday.
FLYMIKEXL Thanks this. -
Are they paying for the miles you driving yet?
-
Nope, I'm still in class. But as far as I'm concerned, the miles ARE payment. This situation I have lucked into is a gift. If you look at it from a student standpoint, I'm getting much more that I paid for. There is no student in any school ANYWHERE that is getting this much road time. It is either federally mandated or state mandated (can't remember which) that students receive 10 hours of wheel time, in varying traffic situations. I have 16. I have another 20 coming on Monday and Tuesday, and another 900 miles. Do I wish I was getting paid? Absolutely. But again I am looking at this from a student point of view. I paid for a Chevy. They gave me a Ferrari. I am good with that

If it is possible for you to come to the Ohio location, I would absolutely recommend it. I know that it's an extremely long trip. Bill is unique in several ways. Not only is he a licensed instructor, he's a licensed examiner, AND board licensed to TRAIN instructors and examiners. He's been at Millis for 21 years but he's been involved in every aspect of everything since 1990. He's the real deal. He's tough, he's understanding, he's a gigantic pain in your butt when he knows that you need it. Come here if you can. You won't get better training than this. It is a guarantee that he trained the guy who will be instructing you at Eden.Last edited: Jul 16, 2016

Today was day one of my Georgia trip. Drove all of the miles, so I tacked on another 450 miles. Tomorrow, we'll be loading our vehicles into our trailer and heading home. Got my first experience with weigh stations today. One in Kentucky and one in Georgia.
