    Hi.yesterday i was changing the altinator.now i have 12.5v when i start the engine.before with the old altinator was 13.4 is this normal.and the enginge is now shaking never i have this before.thinking to change everything from the belt in miami.when i look the engine inside betwin ventilator and belt is moving.i have a columbia 07 with cat c13 kcb 06.Thanks for yo help

    Recheck your terminal connections. Try a tester independent from your truck. May be the onboard gauge is bad.

    Check all of your main grounds. Some Cats have a ground on the engine block right in front of the starter. If that is loose, you'll get the symptoms you describe.

    Check the voltage with a multimeter right at the battery terminals (engine off). Make sure it matches the voltage at the positive terminal on the alternator.

    The alternator should bring the system voltage up to 13.6 to 14 volts once the engine is running.

    Should be 13.8-14.2

    Yours isn't charging . 12.5 is normal voltage for a full batt.

    Update.i am now home in Miami .my mechanic was looking with the laptop my engine and now the altinator was good.only injector 6 is bad.now he changed the injector
    Was good to drive home for the repair
