So I've had this inverter for a couple months now. Connected via cigarette plug since direct hooking up to battery is against company policy.. Last night I had it going running my tv and DVD player when all of a sudden it gave out. I figured it was time for bed anyway, unplugged it from socket (the plug was a little hot, but nothing crazy) and went to bed. Today, tried turning it on and nothing. The fuse inside the connector is still good. I could take it apart, but I'm no electrician, I'd have no idea what to do after. Anyone have any ideas? I've tried a few different outlets in the truck (they definitely work, I had my charger plugged into one all day and the other is still powering my Coleman cooler) and nothing.
Edit: totally is the fuse in tip. Went and got a replacement one and it works now. Weird, the old one still looks perfectly good. Oh well, cheap fix. Mods, feel free to delete this thread if you desire.

It's not uncommon for fuses to look good but actually be blown. They don't always blow in the middle. They break at the connection side also. Defective, bouncing around, whatever. And they break where you can't see it.
The best way to check fuses is to probe the top of the fuse on both terminals on top. Using either a test light or a voltmeter. A bad fuse will NEVER have power on both top terminals. ONLY one side.
that testing method works way better then the eyes can see. And it beats pulling fuses out to look at them. -
Replace fuse they can split where you can't see it if that doesn't work check fuses for the lighter outlets. Also running it out of a cig lighter you only get like 150ish watts which might not handle a DVD player and tv mine wouldn't
Friday Thanks this. -
I actually had to get two of them to run a tv/vape battery charger on one and ps4 on the other.

Your DC plug may be toasted. Next time slide a couple of cable ties or the tine off a plastic fork in between the connector and socket. You had a slight air gap at the tip which probably caused it to draw more current than it was rated for.
